Total War: Warhammer 3 crossplay has been on the minds of players ever since the significant improvements to its co-op campaign and multiple battle types were revealed. Launching across multiple storefronts, cross-store multiplayer would ensure that you can play with or against others regardless of where you purchase the game.
Among the improvements that made Total War: Warhammer 3 crossplay a hot topic count bumping up the co-op campaign player count to 8 from the previous 2 while adding support for simultaneous turns. In addition to the grand campaign, two smaller ones are also present, focusing on areas around Cathay and Kislev.
Total War: Warhammer 3 Crossplay Report
Since the game was announced, developer Creative Assembly expressed its intention to have cross-store multiplayer available as soon as Total War: Warhammer III launches, and crossplay is, indeed, available on day one.

That being said, not all players are having an easy time connecting to their peers on other storefronts, but the developer is aware of these issues and working to fix them.
“We can confirm that cross play is working for the vast majority of players but we are working directly with some users to determine why their experience is not up to par,” Creative Assembly told us.
“For users experiencing issues, we’d encourage them to get in touch with us on our Discord, Forums, or by submitting a ticket to our support team here.”
In some cases, repeatedly attempting to connect and logging in and out of your account can get you past this hurdle, but if you’re encountering issues after a few attempts, it’s a good idea to reach out via the channels mentioned above.
That’s what you need to know about crossplay and cross-store multiplayer in Total War: Warhammer III. Hopefully, it won’t take too long until things run smoothly for everyone.
Total War: Warhammer III is out now on PC. You can grab it from Fanatical, other major storefronts, as well as Xbox Game Pass.
