As the Epic Games Store enters its sixth year in 2024, it continues to provide a favorable revenue model where developers earn a larger portion of the proceeds from their games. In addition to hosting exclusive titles, the storefront maintains its tradition of offering a growing list of free games each week.
Last year’s selection on the Epic Games Store featured a diverse array of games, including major AAA titles, unique indie games, and item packs for several free-to-play games. Highlights included Dishonored - Definitive Edition, Kerbal Space Program, Warhammer 40,000: Gladius - Relics of War, Death Stranding, Payday 2, Homeworld Remastered Collection, Europa Universalis IV, Deliver Us Mars, The Evil Within, The Outer Worlds, and Saints Row.
Continuing with this tradition, the lineup of free games available on the Epic Games Store in 2024 kicks off with a strong start. This article provides regular updates on all the new upcoming Free Games as they are released.
What's free this week on the Epic Games Store
Since its debut at the end of 2018, the Epic Games Store’s free games list has generally expanded weekly. Notably, in the latter part of December, there were daily giveaways, a trend that will likely make a comeback in 2024.
To access these free titles, simply set up an EGS account, navigate to the storefront’s section dedicated to free games, and proceed as if making a regular purchase.
While you’ll need to add the games to your cart, they are offered at no cost. It’s important to remember that to claim these games, you must add them to your library during their free period - normally a week.
The Epic Games Store’s free games roster for 2024 is updated every Thursday at 8 AM PT/4 PM GMT, though there have been occasional breaks from this schedule.
Over the years, some games have appeared multiple times on the list. If you happen to miss any, it’s a good idea to keep an eye on the Epic Games Store’s various sales, where they might be available at a discounted price.
