The Chinese company Xiaomi has launched a new upgraded version of Mi Max which was launched last year. The Mi Max 2 has some amazing features and it falls perfectly in the budget as well. Originally priced at just Rs.16999, the phone will be available at a good discount during the Independence Day Sale exclusively on Tata CLiQ. The following differences between the Mi Max 2 and its predecessor will give you a clear idea about what’s new on the phone and why you should choose to buy it.
Design and Display
There is a very subtle but important change in the design. The company has used U-type antenna design which helps in keeping the back panel of the phone in a much better look. The company is claiming that they have improved the design to ensure that no finds it difficult to use with one hand. The display size is similar to the predecessor i.e. 6.44-inch. However, the bezel size has been reduced in the new handset while keeping the resolution same.
Processor and memory
Mi Max was equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 chipset coupled with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage while the new handset comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset coupled with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. The company launched another variant of Mi Max last year by the name Mi Max Prime which has Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 chipset coupled with 4 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage. Mi Max 2 has another variant with same RAM and storage capacity too.
The Mi Max 2 comes with a powerful 5300 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0. The company is claiming that the phone will reach from zero to 68 percent in just one hour. The predecessor came with 4850 mAh battery which was slightly less than the new phone.
Though the predecessor came with the 16-MP rear camera and Mi Max 2 has an only 12-MP rear camera, the fact that MP does not ensure the quality of the image has come true. While the predecessor’s image quality was average, the images that Xiaomi shared for Mi Max 2 are much better and crispier. Both phones are capable of shooting FHD videos along with slow motion videos.
Mi Max runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 8 on the top while Mi Max 2 comes with Android 7.0 Nougat 7.1.1 with MIUI 8 on the top. But the company has already started rolling out Nougat update for Mi Max as well so the phones can be considered as almost same in terms of operating system.
Apart from that, the new phone comes with Stereo Speakers and IR blaster which was missing in Mi Max. The phone does not have OTG support which was present in MI Max. The MRP of Mi Max 2 (Rs.16999) is slightly higher than Mi Max (Rs.14999).
In the last couple of years, Xiaomi has launched a number of products which are overtaking the gadget world. The company has aimed at producing products for day-to-day use including a vacuum cleaner, air purifier, washing machine, are television, etc. which are much better than most of the competitors and have an affordable price tag as well. So if you are looking to buy a good smartphone during the upcoming Independence Day sale and are looking for some cool discounts and offers then you should go for Mi Max 2.
