What 'version mismatch' means is that your version of Rocket League is outdated and that it requires a client-side update before you can continue to play.
In theory, this should mean that Rocket League auto-updates as soon as you close the game and go back to Steam, but sometimes it doesn't quite work that way. To fix the problem, however, all you need to do is shut down Steam completely and re-launch it from desktop.
