The Underdark in Baldur’s Gate 3 is more than just a realm of shadow and uncommon beauty; its Arcane Tower also provides a generous dose of mystery for inquisitive adventurers who stumble upon it.
Baldur’s Gate 3’s Arcane Tower is located to the south and west from the Underdark’s beach. Once inside, you’ll come across a magic elevator that’s currently non-operational.
For seamless movement between the tower’s various floors, it’s essential to get the magic elevator up and running. To achieve this, head to the generator on the ground floor and activate it.
Baldur's Gate 3 Arcane Tower
Getting to the bottom floor of Baldur’s Gate 3 Arcane Tower involves jumping on mushrooms found on the tower’s exterior.
Assuming you’ve panned your camera to show you entering from the east, head to the southern balcony and look to the right.
You should easily spot blue mushrooms which you can use to jump to the balcony below and, eventually, all the way down. Follow the rock path to the bottom, pan the camera around, and you should spot the tower’s door.
The Feather Fall spell enables you to reach the bottom of Baldur’s Gate 3’s Arcane Tower without taking damage, making the descent easy.
If, however, you don’t have access to it, it’s a good idea to use the party member with the largest health pool, as they will take damage upon landing.
The door leading inside Baldur Gate 3’s Arcane Tower will be locked. There’s no need to worry if your character is not that great at lockpicking. Bashing it with your weapon also works.
However, before heading inside, look behind you for the blue tree with the Sussur Bloom flower on the ground. This detour is necessary, as the flower is required to turn on the Arcane Tower’s generator. Pick it up, then head inside. Circle the room until you reach the interactable portion of the power generator.
Add the Sussur Bloom to the empty slot in the interface, press combine and wait a few seconds. You’ll end up getting a cutscene showing the effects of your actions, after which the Arcane Tower elevator will become usable.
The two buttons found near the elevator’s entrance will help you either ascend or descend the Arcane Tower, making exploration considerably easier.
